There are a total of 21 power-ups in Metroid Prime Remastered, and this detailed guide will help players locate every one of them.
There are 18 Power Suit upgrades in Metroid Prime Remastered that players must collect if they hope to reach the game's end credits. There are also three optional power-ups, and indeed fans must obtain those in order to reach 100% completion. For those players that may be having trouble tracking down some of these mandatory and optional Power Suit upgrades in Metroid Prime Remastered, this guide is here to explain where all of them can be found.
Upon landing on Tallon IV in Metroid Prime Remastered, players should pass through the door closest to Samus's Gunship and follow the path to Transport to Chozo Ruins West. Fans should then make their way to the Chozo Ruins' Main Plaza, use the door in its back-left corner, and follow the path to ultimately reach the Hive Totem. Here, players will battle the Hive Mecha, and they will receive the Missile Launcher when that boss has been dispatched.

With the Missile Launcher in hand, Metroid Prime Remastered players should return to the Chozo Ruins' Main Plaza and use a Missile to pass through the Blast Shield Door on ground level. Fans should then continue forward and defeat the Plated Beetle in the Ruined Shrine to earn the Morph Ball.
After obtaining the Morph Ball, players should return to the Chozo Ruins' Main Plaza and use the elevated bridge to reach a door that leads to Ruined Fountain Access. Fans should now work toward the Watery Hall, which is reached by passing through the Ruined Fountain, Arboretum, and Gathering Hall. There are four runic symbols in Metroid Prime Remastered's Watery Hall, and players that scan them all will gain access to an area where the Charge Beam is held.
Players that are searching for the Morph Ball Bomb should climb within the Chozo Ruins' Gathering Hall, using the platforms above the Gathering Hall Access door to start their ascent. Fans should pass through the door that they encounter at the top of this room and continue forward until they reach the Energy Core. Upon entering the Energy Core, fans should immediately turn left and follow the path to reach a Morph Ball tunnel, which leads to a battle with the Incinerator Drone and the Morph Ball Bomb upgrade.
The Chozo Ruins' Arboretum is the next room of interest, and players must use the Morph Ball Bomb upgrade to climb. There is a gate at the top of this room, which fans can open by scanning the four runic symbols in Metroid Prime Remastered's Arboretum, and there is battle with Flaahgra beyond it. Players will receive the Varia Suit upon defeating that boss.
Once Metroid Prime Remastered's Flaahgra has been dispatched, players can continue forward to reach Transport to Magmoor Caverns North. Fans must then work through the Magmoor Caverns, stopping at Monitor Station. There is an elevated bridge within this room, which can be used to access Transport to Phendrana Drifts North. In the Phendrana Drifts, players must pass through the Ice Ruins East and Ice Ruins West to arrive at the Phendrana Canyon, and the Boost Ball upgrade is at the far end of this room.
After collecting Boost Ball, players should make their way back to the Tallon Overworld's Tallon Canyon. There is a large stone half-pipe within this room, and Metroid fans should use the Boost Ball upgrade to reach an opening at the top of it. This opening leads to a path that ends at the Alcove, a small room adjacent to the Landing Site in which the Space Jump Boots are held.
Players that have earned the Space Jump Boots should return to the Phendrana Drifts' Phendrana Shorelines and use their double jump to reach the Chozo Ice Temple. Fans that work through this room will eventually arrive in the Chapel of Elders, where they will battle Metroid Prime Remastered's Sheegoth. The Wave Beam is awarded as soon as that foe is dispatched.
With the Wave Beam collected, players should head to the Phendrana Drifts' Ice Ruins West and use the rooftops to reach the Ruined Courtyard. Fans are now on a path that will lead them through the Research Laboratories, and they will obtain the Super Missile at the top of the Observatory.
Players that continue to progress through the Phendrana Drifts' Research Laboratories after collecting Metroid Prime Remastered's Super Missile will ultimately arrive at the Research Core. The Thermal Visor is found at the bottom of this room.
After collecting the Thermal Visor, players should backtrack to the Phendrana Drifts' Ruined Courtyard and use the new Visor to reveal a conduit above a door near the Save Station. Shooting a Wave Beam at that conduit will allow players to pass through the door and reach the Quarantine Cave. Here, fans will battle Metroid Prime Remastered's Thardus, and they will earn the Spider Ball upgrade when that boss is defeated.
Players that have the Spider Ball upgrade should set their sights on the Chozo Ruins' Energy Core and use a door in this room to reach the Furnace. Climbing the Spider Ball Track in the Furnace's small alcove will set fans on a path that ultimately leads to the Reflecting Pool, and they should drain its water and use the half-pipe that is revealed to reach the room's upper level. One of the doors on this level leads to the Antechamber, and the Ice Beam is within it.
Once the Ice Beam is collected, players should work toward the Phendrana Drifts' Frozen Pike, a room that can be reached by passing through the Ice Beam door at the bottom of the Research Core or by riding the Phendrana Drifts South elevator in the Magmoor Caverns. Regardless of the path that is taken, fans should navigate through the Frozen Pike and use Missiles to drop the stalactites in the Frost Cave. This action will put players on a path to the Gravity Chamber, and they will find the Gravity Suit underwater in the back-left corner of this room.
With the Gravity Suit equipped, players should navigate to the Tallon Overworld's Frigate Crash Site, which can be accessed from the Landing Site. Here, fans will enter the crashed vessel, and they will find an elevator to the Phazon Mines at the end. This is likely the hardest level in Metroid Prime Remastered, and players must progress to the Central Dynamo, dispatch a cloaked drone, and traverse a Morph Ball maze to claim the Power Bomb.
After receiving Metroid Prime Remastered's Power Bomb, players should return to the Phazon Mines' Ore Processing and use the new explosive to finish the central puzzle in the room. This action will allow fans to climb higher within Ore Processing, and they will find the Grapple Beam in Storage Depot B at the top.
Players that have collected the Grapple Beam should return to the Tallon Overworld's Great Tree Hall and use the Morph Ball Spinner to access the upper section of the room. Fans should then continue to climb, using the spiraling Spider Ball Track as necessary, to reach the Life Grove and the X-Ray Visor.
Players that are hunting for the Plasma Beam should travel to the Magmoor Caverns' Geothermal Cave. Here, fans must use Metroid Prime Remastered's Boost Ball upgrade to raise sections of the platforms that are in the lava. Upon reaching the highest platform, players must place a Morph Ball Bomb inside its slot to reveal an elaborate Spider Ball Track, which leads to Plasma Processing and the final Beam upgrade.
Fans must now set their sights on the Phazon Mines' Metroid Quarantine A, a room that is just beyond the Central Dynamo. There is a large chasm of Phazon within this room, and players should activate the X-Ray Visor to reveal a series of platforms that can be used to traverse it. Players should then continue to progress until they reach the Elite Quarters, beat Metroid Prime Remastered's Omega Pirate, and claim the Phazon Suit.
The Wavebuster is an optional upgrade for Metroid Prime Remastered's Wave Beam, and it is found within the Chozo Ruins' Tower of Light. Players can reach this room with the help of the Spider Ball Track in the Ruined Shrine, and they must use Missiles to break weakened sections of the pillars against its walls. This action will make it possible to climb within the Tower of Light and reach the Wavebuster.
The Ice Spreader is an optional upgrade for Metroid Prime Remastered's Ice Beam, and it is found within the Magmoor Caverns' Shore Tunnel. Quite simply, players must place a Power Bomb in the center of the metal tunnel within this room to reach the Ice Spreader that is beneath it.
The Flamethrower is an optional upgrade for Metroid Prime Remastered's Plasma Beam, and it is found within the Phazon Mines' Mine Security Station. To collect it, players should place a Power Bomb next to the metal gate near the Security Access B door and scan the terminal that is revealed. This will cause a force field in the Mine Security Station to dissipate, allowing players to access a Plasma Beam door that leads to the Flamethrower.
Metroid Prime Remastered is available on the Nintendo Switch.
